Trahern Valley (Clan Lasombra)
From a clan that supposedly revels in survival and mastery, this Lasombra has done both.

Description:
About six feet tall, with a respectable build. Age seems to be anywhere between twenty and thirty years. Dark hair. Eyes that catch the colours of the light. A face barely worth shaving, which tends to either scowl or grin. Taste in clothing runs through most modern things black and blue; whether it's practical or fanciful depends on whether he was scowling or grinning when he dressed.

The only reason Trahern doesn't make a habit of being imposing (if not intimidating) is because he tends to keep to the shadows. When he steps out of them he is pleasant to behold, especially when he finds his humour. His eyes have an intense look, especially for someone who has yet to focus on the Dominate discipline.

Background:
Trahern was embraced at the turn of the twentieth century by an independent Lasombra. Apparently it had been an impulsive act; his sire never even told him her name. She did tell him the basics of Cainite existence and history, and helped him begin his development of obtenebration. She disappeared during the first world war.

Though curious, he has never felt a particular need to find her. There is, after all, plenty of time.

After beginning his studies in the occult, he traveled to Madrid, Spain and found the Sabbat (or vice versa). Archbishop Moncada allowed his entry into the sect, which Trahern survived with distinction.

Since his formal acceptance, he entered the clan's library and didn't come out for decades. During this time he learned much clan lore, and perfected his mastery over shadow to the exclusion of all else.

Occasionally a ductus or pack priest would attempt to force him to join their pack. This soon became a game with the local packs, as Trahern would either hide, or respond with (usually fatal) violence. This continued until he killed the wrong ductus during the Sabbat's attempt on America's east coast. Cardinal Moncada ordered that he be diablerised by the ductus' pack. Instead he escaped and fled to Lisbon, Portugal. While he spent time with the local Toreador, Moncada suffered final death and the American campaign came to an end.

He has since been forced to relocate to England.

Character Perceptions:
After spending the majority of his unlife in a library, Trahern has become rather detached from his emotions. His only goal is to learn how to use the gifts his blood has to offer. This is the root of his fascination for disciplines; they are what set Cainites apart from the Kine. Having mastered his clan's signature discipline, he is now focusing on others-- including those of other clans.
