Elijah Robert Marks (Caitiff)
Newly embraced, he has become
one of the creatures he used to hunt.
Description:
The words "quietly unremarkable" best describe this man: he is of average
height, average weight, and average build. His thick hair is cut at an
average length, his brown eyes neither shine nor dull, and his clothes can best
be described as "boring": blue jeans, a workman's shirt and tie, workman's
boots and a faded grey trenchcoat. He is not ugly, but he is also not particularly
handsome... You may have passed him a thousand times in a month and you wouldn't
remember him. He exudes an aura of unimportance, just another face in the crowd,
another body on the street. Except, perhaps, for the way his eyes seem to take in
his surroundings instantly, size you up and file you away in some corner of his
mind. And at times they might reflect a force of will that seems much larger than
the body it seems to inhabit...
Background:
Many hunters have heard of Elijah Marks. He was one of the most successful vampire
hunters in the state of Virginia, and was an active hunter for slightly more than
ten years -- an unheard-of length of time in a profession where the survival rate
declines sharply after three years of "active duty." A few months ago,
Elijah disappeared. He is assumed dead.
He is.
Kindred with contacts in the Richmond
area will know that for almost a decade Richmond and the state of Virginia in general
was plagued by a particularly crafty vampire hunter -- one who would, instead of
trying to take his prey head-on, would first monitor and then trap his target, killing
him quickly and efficiently. Very recently the Prince of Richmond ordered the capture
of this hunter, and after he was captured, the Prince ordered him embraced and abandoned.
This hunter-turned-vampire is Elijah Robert Marks, newly made and left to fend for
himself.
Character Perceptions:
Most of the other characters seem to feel he talks too much and gives too much away
-- and, in fact, Elijah has noticed that of late he's been far more chatty than
he should be. However, he hasn't had much of a chance to talk to anyone in the last
two months and the events in the Great Hall have put him in contact with people
who don't seem to mind too much about his past and his current clan status, or lack
thereof. Most of the friendly faces he's met seem to view his naivette as a result
of the newness of his embrace and the way in which he's been abandoned by his sire.
He seems to have struck up friendships
with Szandor of Clan Nosferatu, Oldan of Clan Ravnos, and Nikodemus of some unknown
clan. He does not seem to care for bullies and know-it-alls, and still tends to
view most Vampires as dangerous predators who view humanity as nothing more than
livestock for feeding -- Larson being a perfect example of this. He has seen, however,
that not all fall into this category.
