Sanctum Aeternam::The Prince of Atlanta::VI. Enter Limbo, Exit Yallin
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As one enters into this suite, the first thing that they notice (quite immediately, in fact) is the overwhelming perfumes and scents that grace the halls of the wealthy. Stepping through the doors, the extravegence shown meets exactly what one would expect from the beautiful scents. There is a large master-bed along with a mini-bar to the right of it, curtains draping about the entire thing. In the corner of the room (which seems to morph subtly into another room entirely), there is a hottub, complete with cups of incense, candles, and basalm salt. That does not include whatever lies behind the door leading to, what can be assumed, either a bathroom or a walkin closet. In the opposing corner of the room, in yet another "morph", is a kitchen, complete with sink, stoves, and even a mini-refrigerator. The room is larger than most lower-class houses, and definately better furnished.

Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unseen, Clortho extracts his gold key card with his free hand, plugs it in, and opens the suite. His companions nowhere to be seen ah, well, they'll be along shortly.
"Home sweet home, for the moment, anyway."
He enters, ducks around the corner, and lays the young lady out on a chair.
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom walked in and headed straight for the refrigerator. Looking inside, he was disappointed at the lack of fare.
He walked over and picked up the phone receiver.
"Hello...room service? I'd like a large pizza with everything on it delivered to Room 2010. Oh, and throw in a six pack of Miller, please? Thank you."
Looking around
"Hey, you guys are gonna eat. I am a finely tuned athletic machine you know."

Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho looks to Wisdom, mild amusement on his face.
"You're a collage boy, aren't you?"
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GRooWWWLll. Wisdom's stomach grumbles it's dissatisfaction at the lack of nourishment.
"Pre-Med, how'd you guess?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magnus enters, and looks around the room.
"You live well."
He listens to Wisdom ordering his food.
"You play football on a diet like that?"
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm not an elder, I can recognize a collage diet when I hear it. And yes, go ahead and charge it to my room. I don't often get to splurge like this. normaly, I live in a condemned skyscraper."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho notes as Magnus (and Kat, but I'll leave that up to seig) enter.
"vitae is in the themal case on the counter. help yourself."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wry smile
"Yeah, well, I have ways of taking care of my metabolism. I eat pretty well whatever I want. Beer is a requirement for frat boys after all."
Wisdom drops into a large overstuffed chair.
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'd imagine you do."
Magnus looks at Clortho's reserves, sighs, and takes one bag.
"I thank you for your hospitality, prophet."
He drinks the contents very quickly, careful not to spill a drop. Then he turns back to Wisdom.
"What manner of magus are you, Wisdom? Some of the things you said to Christoph... remind me of a sect I knew something about a long time ago. A death-cult, of some sort."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As if by cue, Kat bursts through the door.
"Ni---ce place!" She smiles and twirls around, looking at all the extravegant decorations. Three seconds later...
riing riing... The phone lets loose it's siren's call to Clortho, and...
A knock on the door. "Room service."

"Schandor, good fellow, not prophet. though that seems to have changed of late, ahh, well."
Clortho see that everyone is here, and conviently closes the door, with that gratifying -click- of assured security.
"and you are welcome."
and with the knock, he opens it again.
"bring it right in. charge it to the room."

Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Half-frown as Wisdom thinks.
"Technically, I'm of the Tradition of Euthanatos, which is a Death Cult. Other than my tutor though, I've never met any one else of my tradition."
At the smell of the food
"Fooooooood! Fooooooood!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Euthanatos.... 'pity death?"

"I remember more junior high greek than I thought."

A young lady, hair tucked up neatly into a bun, a professional looking business suit covering her from head to toe enters walks in, a large tray on hand. She pulls off the cover, a wave of steam wafting off of the treat below, and places it down on the table inside.
"Here you go. Enjoy. Will there be anything else?" She smiles kindly, and looks through thin-rimmed spectacles from person to person.

Wisdom visibly checks her out. Then he looks at her pattern.
'Hmmm...nice! That suit doesn't do her justice though. Look better crumpled at the end of my bed.'
Wisdom pats the arm of the chair next to him.
"Have a seat ma'am. And that hair looks kinda uncomfortable all pulled up like that. Isn't it a bit hot for that jacket? You can put it on the bed."
Wisdom smiles at the pretty lady.
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is a simple Yes or No Question, miss. Are you the gatekeeper?"
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A small smile creases her lips, She winks slightly and chides him.
"Oh! Come on... I'm working right now.... But maybe I could get a -few- minutes off.... To get to know... I mean..." She smiles, looking a bit flustered. Wisdom's mojo seems to work.

Siegfried Von Hauten

Clortho smiles at his own little joke with the universe.
"Quite right, miss. Exellent trivia knowledge. such deserves a reward."
He looks a little ways past her, to Wisdom.
"Michal, how much would you say would be too generous a tip?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ma'am, I hate to be a bother, but we're about to conduct some private business."
He said it in as friendly a way as possible. It's not her fault she was being seduced.
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As she sits, Wisdom promptly plops his hand on her knee, as if it has been there for ever.
"There's no amount of money too much for this charming young lady." He looks at her "Look at that face. Priceless." Back to Clortho "Your call though."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She watches Wisdom's eyes, and his hand with quickened breath. She does not make any move to stop him though, her head spinning.
Magnus's words come to her. She looks over her shoulder "Oh... Oh, I'm sorry... S..Should I be leaving, then?" The question is, quite obviously, directed at Wisdom.

Clortho pulls out his wallet, and extracts a bill.
"Twenty I would usually say."
he extracts another bill.
"Thirty, I'll say this time,"
He glances to Magnus before he puts the wallet away. he pulls out another bill.
"and another twenty if you'd be aminable to break this off until tomorrow night, we do after all, have some things that must be discussed in private."
he presents the wad of bills to the young lady.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick, almost murderous glance at Magnus, then a sigh of resignation.
"I guess so...if I could get your number though..."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She smiles at Wisdom, and accepts the tip from Clortho. Her gaze never breaking from Wisdom's own, she pulls out a business card, handing it to him. "Claudia Rice. Keep in touch....." She brushes his hand one last time and stands up, walking out as seductively as her business suit will allow. She turns around, closing the door, and quickly become bemused as to her sudden lack of control. Shrugging, her footsteps are heard down the hallway, and then she is gone.

Slight sullen frown
"Alright Magnus, I imagine you had good reason to do that, didn't you?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I didn't mean to thwart your mortal passions, but we Cainites must be very careful when in the presence of mortals. Our existence is ensured largely through secrecy... which was why Peter wanted to kill you almost immediately.
"We have to be very careful, and keeping her here, when Clortho's reserve supply of blood is just sitting there -- not opened, but still, no chances should ever be taken -- is dangerous.
"Because you know of our existence, you have a responsibility to maintain the veil of secrecy we depend on. If you're unwilling to do that, then Peter was right... you should have been killed.
"I don't think Peter was right. Don't misunderstand me. I'm simply explaining how important the Masquerade is to most of us."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kat watches Wisdom with a continuing amused smile.
"Well, at least SOMEONE still has passion among us." Mostly directed to Magnus in an 'I-dare-you' taunt.

Clortho settles down, adopting his Miguel visage on the offchance he might need his ID soon.
"Many of the elders hide behind that veil. If she had proven a problem, it would have taken very little to convince her to forget this night as a wakeing dream."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Resigned Sigh
"Ok, I can understand why you did what you did. We're in much the same boat, you know. There's people out there, mages, who'd love to get their hands on any mage that doesn't fit their paradigm. So, common ground. You're secret is as safe with me as mine is to you. Safer, in fact, 'cause I can make myself forget I ever met you.
"But damn...some things are important. Surely it hasn't been that long for you...err...two thousand years, right? Maybe it has been that long for you."
To Kat
"Passion? I got passion. Passion is my first, middle and last name. It's even on my Driver's License. Remind me and I'll show it to you sometime."

"Indeed, it's an interesing paradox."
Clortho smiles lightly.
"perhaps if you're ever embraced, you'll have the opportunity to experience it from both sides."
He stands, moving towards the phone at as fast a pace as walking will allow. he picks it up, and brings it to his ear, recoiling sharply as the ID system kicks in.
"Beta, I thought I told you to turn that damn thing off! hold on, I'm putting you on speakerphone."

"I assume you didn't have any luck with the pentagon tonight?"

Quote: "Many of the elders hide behind that veil. If she had proven a problem, it would have taken very little to convince her to forget this night as a wakeing dream."
"That is an imperfect science, Schandor. It is not unknown for a simple visual cue to start a path of rememberance that will unravel your work. Not likely over something so simple, but still...
"Preveantive maintenance. There's no harm, and much to gain, from using preventative maintenance."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom eyes her more boldly now, half-smile on his face
"Maybe not, but it sure would be fun trying. But how to settle the question?"
To Clortho
"Embraced? Uhhh...unless we're thinking about two entirely different acts, I've been embraced many times."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho chuckles.
"How utterly Camarillian of you, Magnus. Imperfect science or no, it's one that's served me well for a hundred years now."

"Very different, though their trappings can be similer. To be embraced is to be made a vampire."

The speakerphone comes in quite clear, a gravily quality its only downside.. Or perhaps that is due to the person on the other end.
"Heh, Pentagon, nothin'. I got everything you need, right? This Yallin guy... Turns out he's been many, many people. I pieced together his past, but ever since the US has been keeping documents... Christopher Yallin, 'born' 1825, 'died' 1900... Christopher Yallin 'Jr.', born 1900, died 1965... Christopher Yallin 'Jr. Jr.', born 1965, still living today. Sounds like a really poorly done job, eh? Anything else you wanted to know?"

At Clortho's words, Wisdom's face changes.
"Uhhh...no offense guys, ma'am, but that doesn't sound too good right now. I'm having so much fun as it is."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
to wisdom.
"No rush. If someone thinks you should have the embrace, they'll give it to you. As it is, you're a wee bit young for my tastes, though I've never sired before. You've nothing to fear from me on that concern."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A slight pause... some keyboard clicking.
"Well, he *was* the collector of various manuscripts... ancient ones about archaeic dieties and various cults and demonic presenses.. Turns out he was immensely facinated by them. Hell, I have a whole damn list here of books he bought mail-order from some place in.... Transylvania?" A chuckle over the line, and then more clicking. "He got them shipped to an address in Atlanta, actually...." Another bout of clicking.
"PAYDIRT! It's on the outskirts in a small suburb, still Atlanta mailing address. 120 Cherry Valley Road. Check it out. Anything else, buddy?"

"anyone have anything left to ask about the late, great, Christoph Yallin?"
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Jealousy? So Soon? I am touched." Irrepressible smile, probably one of Wisdom's most endearing. "Hey, don't you believe in sharing? I do. I'd bet she'd be willing to share with you." Boyish smirk. "Then again, what she don't know...." Outright laughter
"That's good...uhhh...Prophet. Sorry man, I can't even pronounce that other name. I'm in no big hurry either. Check back with me in a few dozen decades."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmm... I doubt you'd be a likely candidate for embrace. Embracing a mage would probably destroy the mage's ability to work magick... and we already have our 'mages' of a sort. They are not well liked.
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her smile returning at full force.
"I'm sure you'd LIKE that, wouldn't you... And maybe if you cast your little spells on me, you could 'swoon' me too, right?" Pushing her hip to the side, teasingly.

"So, what are the old folks talking about anyway, dear?" Eyes still holding hers.
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho watches the two of them in amusement.
"Indeed, you're trying to use jelousy to your advantage. A tactic older than Magnus, yet one that continues to provide a degree of sucess. Facinating...."
He digresses.
"Perhaps the two of you should settle this later? The sooner we find the Grimore, and speak with your 'oracle', the sooner Theda can take posession of her room."

Wisdom just looks at her for a moment, then winks with that smile.
"Hmmm...well Magnus old boy, I could take a look at her, but I'm not too sure what I can do. Vampires being different and all.
"Is there anything I need to know 'fore meeting this Oracle person?"

Clortho points to himself.
"He, is a cainite."
Clortho points to Magnus.
"and she is a cainite."

"You know that we require blood to survive. We call it vitae. What you may not know, is that if we go too long without feeding, or if we expend too much of it through exertion, we may slip into a madness and attack the closest target in a blind fury. This frenzy does not distinguish friend from foe.
"It is something that you need to keep in mind."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"'Cutie', eh? I can live with that. So, what do you get out of drinking vampire blood?"
Wisdom reaches into his jacket.
"Hmmm...I don't know that coming up with blood's gonna be a problem." Wisdom pulls out two bags of blood
"Need to find a glass or two to put 'em in. These bags aren't gonna last long."
Wisdom takes a couple of glasses and fills them, the bag disintegrating in his hands.
"Well, I can't vouch for the taste...say...would you be willing to spare a sample for me?"
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"certainly, caster."
Clortho bites his wrist.
nothing comes out.
"er, you may want to get something to put this in before I let it bleed."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magnus looks at the blood strangely. He picks up the glass and sniffs its contents.
"Well, it smells right. How exactly did you create vitae ex nihilo?"
He takes a sip.
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well... the benefits of drinking Cainite blood are multifold. I'm still mortal, but I'm almost 550 years old.. And don't feel a day over 20!"

"Wow, you certainly look great for your age. Oil of Olay?" Slight chuckle. "Seriously, you do look great. I mean it.
"Well, Magnus, I'm a mage. That's a piece of cake. Now Cainite, is that the right word?, Cainite blood, I'm not sure of, hence the need for a sample."
Wisdom grabs two more empty glasses and winks at Kat.
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"There are perils involved in drinking a Cainite's blood as well," Magnus says. "In the event you are interested in doing such thing. If you drink from a Cainite's blood three times in a row, you become enthralled to him or her... in fact, you will feel such love as you've never felt before..."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho thinks for a moment.
"Living over 500 years would seem to preclude the term 'mortal'. perhaps 'living' would be a better substitute."
he follows Magnus's example, and drinks from the other glass, then he settles his gaze back on Kat.
"You certainly don't LOOK the part of a 500 year old hag. Smile, dear, that's intended as a compliment."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At first, conflicting inside...
"No, I won't recommend that. Drinking from a vampire has reprecussions... You begin to fall in love with them. So deeply, so powerfully, that you are drawn to them and cannot stop. That is why...." A blush seeps onto her face, and she looks at the ground.
"That's why I always kill the vampires I drink from."

"Awfully glad you told me that now, rather than later. Say, Magnus, would you mind contributing to the cause?"
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho bleeds back nearly as much as he drank, then heals the wound with the last of that small intake.
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I fear contributing at this point is not a good idea. Increasing my speed to disarm Peter was... very draining."
He sighs.
"And I'm not sure how I feel about teaching a mage to create Cainite blood..."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Best advice, Magnus, feel nothing. simply know your cause, know it is just, and know what must be done in its name."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Creating a ghoul is the cruelest form of slavery imaginable," he says sadly. "They are compelled to love their Domitor, even when they know it is not 'real'."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Of slavery, I'd agree. That is why I have none."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If he's to travel with us, he'll need to know at least the basics... that there are clans, and about the Camarilla, the Sabbat, the Anarchs, the Indeps. Enough to impersonate a young ghoul, if need be."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Clans? What are clans? Camarilla? Sabbat? You lost me.
"Actually, the same danger exists for Magi. There are some who have much more powerful levels of Mind that can create slaves by walking in the room. It would be nice if we could create something that stops ghouls from being abused so."

Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'll leave that to your experience. I did, after all, teach him vocabulary."
sits back to listen, then stands after an instant of thought.
"Actually, excuse me, I have an error to correct."
Clortho walks towards the bathroom, but halts just outside.

Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom opens the pizza box and sits down on the couch. He cracks open a beer and gestures for Kat to dig in. He then pulls his own piece and starts to ravage it.
"MMMppphhhnnnnuuuu"
At Magnus's puzzled glance Wisdom gulps down his mouthful of pizza, washing it down with a swig of beer.
"I said, 'Go ahead Magnus.'"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magnus settles back into a chair, drinking some of Wisdom's conjured blood.
"For the past 500 years there have been two large, warring groups of vampires... the Camarilla and the Sabbat. The Camarilla are a group of 'traditionalists,' I suppose you could say. They believe it is necessary for us to keep our existence secret from the mortal world. The Sabbat... are a distorted remnant of a failed revolution. I don't honestly know what they actually believe, they're a bit after my time... but it appears to have something to do with committing acts of violence against anyone and anything not Sabbat.
"Those are merely political groups. There are also 'bloodlines' amongst our kind. These bloodlines are divided into Clans. I, for example, and from Clan Ventrue. I suspect Schandor is from Clan Malkavian.
"Clans are, for the most part, either aligned with the Camarilla, the Sabbat, or are Independents -- not aligned with either. You'll find most members of a clan on the same side, though there are rogues who do not follow the party line.
"There are also anarchs. Anarchs are the remaining members of a failed rebellion, who were ultimately defeated by the Camarilla. We are technically members of the Camarilla, but we're not happy about it."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kat slides her way out, and smiles slightly at Clortho as he stands a few feet before the door.
"Forgive my lack of self-control. It will not happen again." Her voice speaks volumes about her actual age... A perculuarity considering the "normal" side of Kat. She watches Clortho, her eyes fierce and alive again, and a small smile creeps up onto her face.
And just like that, the serious-demeanor is gone.
"I hope you ordered pepperoni!" It is directed to Wisdom, and she grumbles as she approaches, her arms crossed.
"Oh, I *swear*... Disgusting! Mushrooms, Onions, and what are THOSE..... little bits of sausage? Freak."
Kat bumps Wisdom's shoulder with her hip and sits down in another of the chairs, grabbing one of the pieces and gobbling it up in a very un-ladylike fashion.

Clortho frowns slightly.
"It was my fault, I clearly pushed you into some memories you did not wish to recall. I apologize. I would not have the spirit in you extinguished so easily by a moment of dispair."
and his face returns to a somewhat more measured demeanor.
"Take solice, one day, that crime will never be comitted again."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom looks at her in mock shock and exaggerated horror.
"What, are you crazy?", he asked semi-incredulously. "Mushrooms make the pizza. Better'n desert. Well, depends on what that desert is.
"'Sides," he says with a wink, "onions and mushrooms are good for you. Eat enough of them and you might live to see 600."

She turns to Clortho, a slight smile on her face, her mouth full of pizza.
"Yommh.. Mm cahnm ,... *swallow* I can onmly hompe so. *swallow* Someday... But I don't plan to go out without a bang until that day, right?"
A few pensive moments of thought, and then another HUGE bite out of her pizza.
Kat gigles. It almost spills out, but she covers her mouth with her free hand. After a minute of chewing, she looks up at Wisdom.
"Yea, you don't suppose after 500 years I could go out from high cholesterol?"
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom looks at her.
"My guess is that if anything is going to kill you, it won't be high cholesterol."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho looks thoughtful for a second.
"A bang.... A distinct possibility, I'll have to look into that."
He glances at the pizza, and the two eating it, and frowns, not as intensely as before.
something of a mix of a frown and a smile. he speaks with humor in his voice.
"You call that a pizza? I haven't eaten in eighty years, but I can tell just from the smell that it's nothing compared to a good New York streetcorner slice!"
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A mock-exasperation sigh, and a soft grin.
"Well, Atlanta isn't famous for their pizza, I'd say. If we wanted typical southern cuisine, we should have gotten Jumbulliah or some crap like that."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I wonder when she's going to wake up... exactly how hard did you hit her, Kat? It looked like such a tiny gun..."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's times like this I wish Nodoz worked on vampires."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She looks at Magnus, a small 'did-I-do-that' grin on her face.
"Well, I saw her going for ya Magnus, and I just got alittle freaked, so I... uh... well, lets say I utilized alittle of my 'potence'."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You acted quite appropriately, Kat. I thank you for it. I'd just like her to be awake before we head off to the Oracle... carrying an unconscious body around the city tends to attract attention."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She keeps her smile consistant.
"Perhaps a bucket of cold water?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I find it difficult to believe that so common a sensation would revive a Cainite, but I confess I have no better alternatives in mind."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom walks over to the sleeping vampire. He peels back an eyelid professionally, stopping himself has he reaches for her wrist. He looks up at the others and, with a straight face, says "Ummm...it is my professional opinion that she's dead.
"Well, hey, I thought it was funny. Gimme a minute to study her pattern and I'll see if there's anything I can do."
With that, he goes through the motions of checking the patient's vital signs and other medicinal arcane actions. This was just a front, however, something to give his body a task as he begins to study her mystical self and the fundamental essence of her being.
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom considered her condition as he continued his mechanical checking of her vitals.
"Aha! I see the problem. Someone hit her in the back of the head real hard. Wonder how that happened." Looks up at Kat and winks again.
Wisdom propped her upper back up against his thigh as he sat cross-legged on the deeply carpeted floor. He took her head in both hands and gave her neck a violent, cracking twist.
"There you go. She should wake up here in a minute."

Kat watches diligently, and grimaces alittle bit as the woman's back 'cracks'. Sticking her tongue out in disgust, she walks over, snagging another piece of pizza. Finally, she seats herself down on the couch across from the action.
"unngh.."
The woman tosses an arm up.
A burst of energy, and she's sitting up.
"Huh!? Where am I?"
Her head twirls from person to person, and she swallows, hard.
"Oh! Right.. we were just about to fight... to the ... death. *gulp*. Alright, shall we get on with it?"
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom nearly drops to his knees, grimacing in what could only be considered pain.
"Christ that hurts. I think I screwed up my arm. And hell no we're not fighting to the death. My arm hurts too damn bad for fighting. 'Sides, I went to all the trouble to wake you up and I didn't do it so we could just put you back down again.
"My God that hurts. I'm going to have a drink. Maybe we can cut each other to ribbons later."
Wisdom walks over to the wet bar and pours himself a shot of Jack Daniels.

Sara pauses, bewildered. Her mouth opens slightly, as if to complain, but she thinks better of it.
"Oh-kay. I think I will have a drink too, then, if you're not going to kill me. I do believe my neck has suffered a trauma of some sort, though I am quite beguiled as to why and how."
Sara stands up, rubbing her neck.
"It doesn't hurt any more."
She walks over, and Kat gives her a devillish smile.
"Oh, *I* know why it hurt, but that's another story."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sipping his second of two shots of Jack Daniels, the first didn't last long enough to get the shotglass wet, Wisdom shook his head.
"No, actually, unless you were about to say the reason why is because you gave us the wrong answer, you're very much incorrect in your assessment.
"Now, your prognosis for the near future is entirely dependant on the answer you give us now."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Right... then. What exactly do you WANT from me?"
The woman pauses, a quick breath in (a mortal failing), and she exhales with regret. Tipping her weight onto one side, she adds:
"And may I still have a drink?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I have no particular wish to harm you... but those you associated with, apparently, had no qualms about using you as a shield.
"Please tell me two things: why was I 'lured' down here from California, and who is this Seigfried the two of you kept going on about?"
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sara looks at the new speaker, squinting her eyes. She pauses, a slight sighs escaping her lips.
"I'm sorry. I don't know why you were lured from California. I cannot help you on... that.. matter. Siegfried, however, is another story. Siegfried Von Hauten, of clan Tzimisce... He's a priest of the Sabbat from what we know of him. But he doesn't appear to have any qualms killing Sabbat or Camarilla alike to achieve... whatever it is he desires. He is a classic manipulator of the worst sort; Yallin believed that he had handed himself over to the Wyrm. I don't think that's too far off. I met him once at a prince's ball, and he was NOTHING less than rude and repugnant. And then, in retribution for my attitude, he slew my sire, the honorable Ventrue Primogen, causing me to flee into the safety of Yallin's haven. Of course, now that saftey is gone, and I've nowhere left to run. Siegfried, it seems, has had his final vengeance on me. And he'll be back for me, OH yes, just watch.. He kills everything I ever touch, everything I hold dear.... And soon, he will kill ME."
The woman plops down, zoned out in her delusional outlook on the situation. She shakes noticibly, a far cry from the noble ventrue ancillae that she once was; broken, defeated, her will crushed...
and she hadn't even fought Siegfried yet.
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sounds like a rather enderring fellow. Yes, it is a bad joke. Anything that vendictive would have to be evil to the core."
Clortho considers that for a moment.
"Now would have been a good time to confer with GOZER, but he's rather put off with me at the moment."
He glances at Kat for a moment,
"You're welcome, by the way."
and returns his gaze to the room in general.
"What was it we wanted to ask this young lady? My memory seems to be slipping."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom frowns, occaisionally wincing in pain.
"Hmm...ok, I think I got the whole Clans thing and the Sabbat and Camarilla thing down. But what's a zamatze? What's a ventrue? and a primogen? And what kind of worm would a vampire hand himself over to?
"I thought you vampires had laws against this sort of thing. If so, how come a bunch of you haven't gotten together and beaten his buttocks?"
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Tsim-eet-zee. It is a clan of vampires that have learned to mold flesh... their flesh, other's flesh, it doesn't matter.
"Ventrue is another clan... I am Ventrue, Sara is Ventrue... same clan. A Primogen is a... well, consider a Primogen something like a Duke. A high-ranking official of the city, which is controlled by a Prince.
"The Wyrm is mostly an expression, though some Garou -- werewolves -- seem to believe the Wyrm is a malevolent God of some sort.
"And I suppose Siegfried has not been beaten either because he is very good at not being found, or some powerful people in the city feel that his presence will help their... political careers."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nod of comprehension
"So why...I guess, isn't there some sort of global agency for dispensation of justice?
"And what kind of rules do you have?"
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sara sighs slightly. She wasn't entirely sure if she was breaking the masquerade, but at this point she was far too gone to care.
"Tzimisce. Slightly less announciated on the zee sound.. ih, not ah." She reminds you of a 6th grade grammar teacher. "At anyrate, Tzimisce are a clan of vampires, much like ventrue are. But Tzimisce have a discipline which Siegfried excels at, that goes by the name of Vicissitude." Sara pauses for a moment, letting this sink in, but Wisdom already has an idea of the powers of Vicissitude from his medical studies. "Vicissitude is the art of flesh-shaping. Which means Siegfried is only Siegfried when he wants to be. He could be any one of you in this room right now... He molds his face to be whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He molds his vocal chords to sound like anyone, and he does so with incredible precision. The bum on the street, the primogen himself, all of which could have been Siegfried... It wasn't until too late that we found out the primogen had been replaced by him, and by then he had replaced the Primogen with ANOTHER. You see, he can craft the flesh of others as well...
But I ramble on and on about things that will not change. A primogen is one of the eldest vampires of a clan in the Camarilla in the city. And, the wyrm..." A shudder. She doesn't particularly like this topic.
"A scholar would be a better source for this information, but sufficed to say, the Wyrm represents depravity and destruction. At one point, entropy (what the wyrm's essense is) was a natural and healthy part of the evolutionary cycle. Things are created by the Wyld, given form and static reality by the Weaver, and then eventually decay and turn to the clutches of the Wyrm, who feeds back the raw energy to be created anew. But at some point, the Wyrm went bad... It started consuming EVERYTHING, not just the things that needed consumption. And now, it has servants on earth to do its bidding; the eventual destruction of EVERYTHING. This is all hypothetical, of course, as nobody who has ever seen such a Wyrm has returned with any sanity left in their mind, and vampires tend not to believe the ramblings of various Garou folklore, but you asked, and hence, shall receive an answer.
Have I provided adequette information?"
Sara smiles hopefully. It is the first time she seems to smile the entire episode she relays. It is weak, but touching at the same time, her beauty really only showing through when her lips curl upwards as such. As quickly as the beauty is regained, it fades back into an expressionless face, her body slacking in position.
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If only it where that simple."
Clortho shakes his head slightly.
"The tzimice are one of the clans, an old one. They used to be extremely powerful in europe, but the Tremere, Mages like yourself that stole vampirism in order to exist forever, dislodged them."
"You might want to think about that, even as a vamire, you could still be a mage to a degree."
"A Primogen is the eldest member of a perticuler clan in a given city. The entire set is also refered to as 'The Primogen.'"
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom stood in the silence, massaging his shoulder to no avail.
"Hey, wanna see something scary?"
Slowly, almost imperceptably Wisdom's skin paled, becoming nearly sheet white. Then he smiled with two perfect fangs protruding from below his upper lip.
"Pretty thweet, huh." A look of disgust "How are thupotht to talk with theth thinth?"
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"they're suposed to be retractable."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and shakes his head, chuckling.
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You think we'd be able to hide behind Magnus's 'masquerade' if we all looked like THAT? There's a degree of subtlety to it."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well yeah, but you can't thow them while they're retracted."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"y'see, kid, you're starting to get the hang of them already."
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You have a very difficult choice to make. Neither option will be pleasant for you.
"One: you can sit here wallowing in your defeat, allowing this Siegfried to manipulate you until he eventually tires of you and you meet your final death, as a puppet, at his whim.
"Two: you can stand against him and take your life back, even if it means that you die in the process. It won't be easy, and it won't be pleasant, but at the end of it, regardless of outcome, you will be free.
"If you want to wallow in self-pity and ultimately die, we'll be on our way. If you'd like to take your life back, the only one of us who is from Atlanta is a mortal, and not familiar with the area in a way that the rest of us would like to be. We could use a guide, at least for a while... and although we are going to travel to some places that are... dangerous... we can still offer some protection.
"The choice is yours."
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sara weighs the options, a shudder going through her body.
"What choice have I? I will come with you."
This said to the great distaste of Kat, who grumbles and continues to eat her pizza angrily.
Magnus
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Very good then."
He turns to the rest of the group.
"If you will accompany Kat and I, I believe there is someone who may be able to shed some light on how to get to... what is her name, anyway?"
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Theda. Don't ask."
Wisdom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom grabs a couple of slices of pizza, folding them into a sandwich. He latches onto the six-pack of beer and prepares to head out.
"Let's go."
Clortho
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clortho gives his mask an internal once over, tucks a cold bag of plasma under it, then prepares to leave with the group, making sure he's carrying his usual gear, and Theda's bag.
Siegfried Von Hauten
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The troupe heads out, shuffling single-filedly down the stairs and to the lobby. They all turn to Magnus, but it seems he already knows where he is going.
And they follow him out.
