On the surface,
an Elysium of unsurpassed splendor. Beneath, something sinister lurks...

I'm going to switch over here. the old one is destablizing, so I'm jumping
ship.

Coyote:
*to amber*
"Oh, grow up." *snaps
his fingers, all of a sudden Amber's beast gets something that feels vaugly
reminicent of a hangover.* "I don't pretend to take credit for Raven's
pranks. The old bird's a little too vendictive for me."
*to Amara*
"Unfortunatly, it isn't
quite as simple as we'd like it to be. You see, dear girl, Some spirits
rise to wisdom, others have wisdom thrust upon them, but it is the rare
spirit that just acts quickly, and naturaly, and is proclaimed wise by
those no greater than he. Three guesses where I fall in that design."
*halts, as the last statment
settls in.*
"In short, I could feed
you a complete line of bull, and tell you the truth, Or I could be honest,
and send you on a wild goose chase you're not likely to survive. Both
are extra work for me, and neither is likely to do you any good."
Lady Amara
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amara seems disillusioned....She afixes her gaze apon Coyote and her lips
thin as her fangs protrude as she crouches and takes and attack stance....
"Then you are a coward...and
a fake...You run me around with your words...with your lies.....instead
of admitting you dont know...you dance with me using your fake, lying
speech. YOU are a LIE!"
------------------
Amara....can a girl play??
Elijah Robert Marks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elijah places his hand on Lady Amara's shoulder.
"Lady..."
He's not restraining her, just
trying to get her attention.
"He may simply be refusing
to answer your question."
------------------
I didn't hate the kindred; I just hunted them. Then they found me, and
then I became them.
Krouser
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coyote:
"My dear girl, I invented the lie. It was a poor second's plea to
save my life. Let me tell you a simple truth. Lies get boring. You spend
so many years mastering the art of twisting the spoken word, and all the
meaning is wrung out of language."
*stops for a moment.*
"I do seem to be using
the long versions, don't I.... You are the one that assumed I was wise.
Make no mistake. I'm not. I'm just very old, very clever, and I have a
very distinct knack for getting myself into and out of trouble. You are
right. I don't have your awnser. Any awnser I could give you would almost
certainly be false, and in its inaccuracy likely get you killed."

Attention should be drawn to something stated earlier, page 6 of the previous
Window thread:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She steps toward the window...far, far off, on the horizon, the inky
black has blended subtly with the obsidian blue of raven's feathers.
"It has been darkest..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carry on.
Pee Ess: Krouser, check your
rotten stinking email.

Elijah Robert Marks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ooc/ Just as an observation, we all need to accept that there are going
to be about a billion side-threads going on throughout this story... since
we're not all awake at the same time or posting at the same time, there
will be things that happen that distract a few while the rest are held
in stasis. For my part, I got involved in the Krouser/Coyote thing because
I had the feeling that someone else was supposed to do something significant
for the "main story" in order to advance the thread... I didn't
want to take an action that would derail that or lead it astray. Krouser
said this would have little effect on the main story, and it's very interesting,
so I've been doing that for a while. But I did notice that as this has
been going on it's been moving away from the primary plot, so I thought
I'd just throw this observation in so we can all get back on track...
eventually.../ooc

OOC:
yikes. G can't deal with another identity crisis right now.
Perception is colored by our world model - we see what is consistent with
it, do not see what is not. So I am going to punt and not perceive Coyote.
Perhaps that, too, is his doing. G's writer wraps towel around head and
asks, from his computer desk, "Zaphod? Is that you, Zaphod".
End OOC.

as it is, I'm inclined to agree. it's an interesting sidetrack, and I
might decide to bring it up again, at another time in a different thread,
but it's just about run its course now. I'll probably write Coyote off
the stage with my next post, but I want Amara to get one last word in.
neuro, if you feel the need
to advance the plot, go ahead and banish coyote back to the umbra yourself,
same for voracia. I realize I'm stepping on your toes here. oh, and my
yahoo mail access has been down for about 12 hours now.
amend that. it's up, just really
slow.

Oh, indeed, I have no problem with deviations from storylines--it's as
much everyone else's story. I just keep trying to move the action forward--the
whole 'screenwriter' complex.
I'll email in efforts to work
with the folks who're presenting new info, then incorporate.
Now I must whiz.
Krouser: No toes injured here.
Your story as much as mine. I'm just a guide.
You have icq or YM?

I've posted a question on the Sanctum Aeternam forum that deals with some
of these issues. It's in the "out of character" forum so you

I'm just now starting to put

Altiriel Twice-Born
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Altiriel looks quizically at Coyote.
"He doesn't seem like
a king, but he's not a pawn, and I don't see him in the pieces waiting
to be placed."
(frowns) "Maybe he's the
one who trips and knocks over the board an hour into the game..."

(Darnit Krouser how'm I s'posed to get a private msg to you!?!?)
Lady Amara
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amara closes her eyes,...bows her head,...re-opens them and their seems
to be a peace over her now....she turns on her heel away from Coyote,...while
giving a wink to Elijah that said "Thanks, he'd kick my ass anyway..."

well, Yahoomail is functional at my house again, but I'll have to leave
in about an hour. I'll see what I can do about getting another copy of
ICQ, or better yet, getting my 95 version to work under 98.
all will sort itself out in
due time.

*Amber takes one last look at Coyote as well before relaxing and resuming
her natural form of the beautiful girl.*
*She nods her head and turns
on her heels and walks over to one of the chess tables and sits down.*

OOC: I have been out of it for quite some time so I missed most of the
coyote storyline and since I don't want to mess any thing up in it I will
just move on into the window. Now if only I knew what to expect when I
get there.
David watches the others talk
with the entity known as Coyote.
(To self)
"Okay, things just got
weirder, I do not want to have to deal with a creature known as his cultures
Prince of Lies. Creatures like him can tell you the truth and still make
you go the wrong way. Oh well, I think I will just follow Miss Voracia.
Walks to the window. As he
passes Gwynhala he turns and sees him with something wrapped around his
head.
"Come on Gwynhala, I don't
think you want to be here any more than I do. Lets go out the window and
see if we can be of any use out there.
David makes it to the window
and looks out
"Oh my, it seems that
the sun is coming up out there. I hope whatever we are doing out there
doesn't take too long or we are all going to be crisped."
David walks out the window.
OOC:Yes I noticed the It has
been darkest...(darkest before the dawn) part. It's just I was asleep
for most of the coyote sideline./ooc

Vash
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Vash peeks in through the window*
Hey, what's going on? Why the
lead feet?
*Vash frowns as his eyes dart
from person to person to semi-god in the room*
Errr... nevermind...
*Vash pulls his head back and
disapeers*
Elijah Robert Marks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good day, Coyote. I believe our companions are waiting."
Elijah bows, and follows Vash through the window onto the ledge.
"Well, I'll be -- hey!
It looks like the sun is going to rise, after all!"
