On the surface,
an Elysium of unsurpassed splendor. Beneath, something sinister lurks...
Stormcaller "You know I wonder if he has figured out that we aren't in whatever city he started in yet. Of course you are right about that humility thing, of course humans have the same problem sometimes. I think you call them bullies or somesuch. I think it has something to do with never having your abilities tested properly since it doesn't matter how good you are, Kindred or Human, there is always someone better unless you are the best and even then someone just might get lucky and beat you. Oh well I guess some people just have to learn the hard way." To Random "I guess he hasn't noticed that there are a lot more of us than there are of him and some of us aren't exactly newly embraced fledglings. Oh well as long as he doesn't start trying to throw his weight around we won't have to give him any lessons in math." ------------------ Valek ::looks to Random:: "Why do you think we are here, all those powerful faces were to hard to resist." ::takes a drag from his cigarette:: ::His face turns cold as he looks to Elijah::"As far as you go, you must have destroyed those vampires that had watched to many of those silly movies you cattle make. One should never play with ones food, they should simply kill it and eat it." ::turns to smile at David:: "David do you really think I have came here alone?" ::Chuckles, looking around the room:: But please let's put this little meeting to good use and get to know each other better, as I said we may never get the chance to talk like this again." ::takes a drag from his cigarette, letting the smoke out slowly:: Elijah Robert Marks
Elijah looks at Valek expressionlessly for a moment. Then he smiles slighly, revealing a pair of canines. "Again, you underestimate everyone around you. And you apparently know nothing of me at all... "I have given you advice, and you've chosen to discard it. That's fine... especially since in any place other than this, I'm sure you'd be more interested in ending my newly acquired unlife, and I know I'd be more interested in introducing you to the sun one last time..." ------------------ Valek Random Valek Stormcaller "Well if you are willing to be nice than I will comply with your wish. Time for a more formal introduction I guess." Slight bow as done between equals "The name is David and I am of clan... well lets just say I am open to suggestions at the moment. Oh and if you haven't been told or figured it out yourself yet then I will tell you myself. You aren't in Kansas anymore so to speak. This Hall isn't in any one place so asking how many Tremere are in this fine city isn't quite the question you meant to ask." ------------------ Random Valek "Well David you lack a purpose and loyalty, so you are of no concern." ::smirks:: ::Looks to Random:: "It will be interesting what happens here soon." Stormcaller ------------------ Krouser "You are Sabbat, and that makes you a wild dog that must be put down before you get in among the herds, and steal from our livelyhood. You are cunning, foolhardy, and lucky, but you are no more than a beast with the meer vestige of a human form. I've heard the ravings of your people, and their Gehenna prophecy, but I've also read the word of Caine, and it denounces your very existance. Prove me wrong, stand against the sabbat in your own defence. Prove you've reason enough left in that hollowed out soul of yours to make you human, and I'll hold no quarle. Your past is the spiderweb that binds you, and not even the sabbat creation rites can free you of their strands." Random Indeed it will. I have the feeling that there is going to be a great amount of fun to be had in the near future. I'll be around to enjoy it, I promise. ------------------ Valek ::chuckles at Krouser:: "Why would I stand against the very sect that wishes to free all vampires and destroy the Ancients? I ceased being human as all vampires do at the time of embrace, it is just we of the Sabbat accept this, and in fact revel in it." ::looks to Random:: "I just hope the sort of fun I refer to is not to much for your sensibilities?" Krouser "Do I have to explain the simple facts about vampirism to every uppity Sabbat that comes in here?" "look, Valko, or whatever your name is. Vampirism is a condition of humanity. This is true because only humans can be embraced. The blood in your veins has always been predominantly human, even when it's taken from another kindred. Look at yourself. You exist naturally in human form, speak in human voice, and use a language developed specificly BY humans FOR humans. Face it, you're human as they come, and telling yourself otherwise isn't going to change the fact." "As to the sabbat. I can't beleive you're dumb enough to be taken in by that propaganda. 'the sabbat is freedom', 'the sabbat will stop the antideluvians'. pah!" *spits dryly.* "It's simple, the sabbat is as much enslaved as the camarilla. You're enslaved by gehenna prophecy. You're convinced you can turn back cosmic tides. think about it this way, if Gehenna is truely to happen, then trying futilely to take out the antideluvians is pointless. some will remain, and they will carry on the fight. Who are you to say the Camarilla isn't ready to fight the antideluvians hmm? simply because they are implementing a different strategic stance doesn't mean they're waiting to be slaughtered. Look at your average camarilla city, say Chicago. In chicago there is a hidden resistance force of aproximatly seventy vampires of varying clans. There is a command structure of neonate ancillae, elder, and prince. There are fingers into every resource in the city that can bed drawn on. Police can be directed to locate and eliminate an antideluvian by day, and gangsters can be brought in with heavier artillery at night. There are a wide variety of people with valuable survival skills avalible for the embrace, and a vast pool of kine to draw blood FROM. Cities are designed with structures like this so that they can BECOME military strongholds very quickly, with the idea of a single overpowered attacker in mind." Valek "First let me remind you I am Lasombra::chuckles::"So we have the tired debate on if a vampire is human? Well let's examine the facts shall we? ::stands pacing:: "Yes it is true I was once mortal, but once I was embraced I as well as all vampires became damned. I personally look upon it as a gift, but each has his own view. Now how many humans do you know that exist the way we vampires do? Call it being damned, call it evolution, whatever you call it we are not human! We are above them, we are superior. Those of you that cling and moan for your lost humanity make me sick, and you will be the first to fall when Gehenna comes. Oh and as far as doubting if the Sabbat will win...just remember my clan has already slain our Ancient." ::smiles:: Krouser *lets that sink in.* "And are you completely sure that Lasombra is destroyed? or are you merely deceiving yourselves for your own comfort. Spirits are hard things to kill, and I daresay that if its soul lives on, even in another body, it will find a means to carry its agenda." Valek Krouser "You aren't listening. Before my embrace, I had a beast, just like I do now. But the beast wasn't just a part of me, it was interwoven, it was me. Now, at least I can stand up and say to my beast 'I'm not going to do that.' Now, I can get ****ed without throwing someone out a window." "The embrace fixed that. I went from being rage incarnate to what I am now. so as you can see, I have a somewhat unique perspective. It's going to take a long time for the embrace to take away what it's given to me, because I'm not going to let it. It made me human, and that disproves the theory that is the cornerstone of sabbat propaganda. If the embrace can do that for someone, make them more human than they were in life, then it clearly didn't make you inhuman." ------------------ Krouser Daimon, Gangrel hunter, to Locke, Tzimice Bishop Stormcaller "It never ceases to amaze me when a vampire thinks that he has become more than human just because he was embraced. What makes you think you have become anything more than a human? Your powers? I have seen humans that were able to change entire buildings on a whim. Does that make them more than human? I say no, it only makes them a different type of human. Or do you think that since you can live forever if not killed that that makes you more than human. If you ask me that is a curse not a blessing. To continue living when those around you don't or even to get older and become bored with everything that once was of interest to you. That is a true curse. It seems to me that you are getting being mortal and being human confused. They are not the same thing at all. Being human is a thing that comes from your biology, being mortal is something else that is not necessarily connected. Oh and just because a person 'clings and moans' about there lost humanity doesn't mean they are easier to kill only that they realize what they have lost." ------------------ Krouser "or in my case, value what they've gained." Valek "I do not know what you were before your embrace but I am sure you must have been fun to be around"::smirks::"If you had a different view on the cattle you could be Sabbat, since you are happy your a vampire." ::looks to David:: "Cling to that humanity, because that is exactly what will be your undoing, be it as the beast takes you screaming, or it causes you to hesitate when needing to do what has to be done." Krouser "I don't beleive it, talking to this guy is like trying to sharpen a marble. He just won't get the point." *looks back to valek* "I could care less about being a vampire. It's just dietary restrictions and hours of the day. It's the humanity the embrace gave me that I value." Random Stormcaller "Well at least we tried,
though I can't see that it changed anything. He still sees humans as cattle
and we will still try to stop him if he tries to treat them as such. Seems
like every time I have this conversation it's the same thing. Reminds
me of religious discussions I used to have." Elijah Robert Marks "When he says he is not human, I believe him. I would say the same thing about many who were still breathing, though. "You really aren't much different from the people you describe so poetically as cattle, Valek. And thanks for the offer, but I'm not terribly interested in the Sabbat. I've seen the new boss. Can't see as he's any different from the old boss..." ------------------
